The "Freshman English Speech Contest" which was jointly organized by the School of Pharmacy，School of Management, School of Energy and Power Engineering and International Department of Jing Jiang College, was kicked off in room 210, lecture hall, on October 10. After three rounds, Kang Shen and Qianliu Zhou both from the School of Pharmacy won the first and second prizes respectively.

                        All participants are freshmen. The contest was divided into three rounds. Firstly, along with beautiful background music, contestants recited their English speech sequentially and conducted self-presentation in three minutes, and then answered questions from referees. Then six top score contestants entered into the next round. In second round, contestants selected topic randomly and gave a speech extempore to show their adaptability. In the final round, the winners were selected by vote of referees and audiences. After a fierce competition, the first prize and second prize were won by the contestants from School of Pharmacy and the third prize was won by the contestant from the School of Management and School of Energy and Power Engineering.

                        The contest not only give chance to the contestants to show their charms but also make the new students feel the rich and colorful life at university .What’s more, the contest may make the freshman become more confidence to overcome the difficulty faced in their life.
