Credit: 3

Class Hours: 48

Semester: 4th

Course Description:

Medicinal chemistry is the required course and one of the essential subjects for students majoring in pharmacy. This course covers discovering and inventing new drugs, synthesizing chemical drugs, elucidating physicochemical properties of drugs relating to a broad spectrum of diseases and mechanism of action, studying interactions between drug molecules and biomacromolecules, studying structure and activity relationships (SAR) of pertinent types of drugs.

Pharmacology (理学)

Credit: 3

Class Hours: 48

Semester: 5th

Course Description:

Pharmacology is the study of the interactions that occur between a living organism and chemicals that affect normal or abnormal biochemical function. Pharmacology is an important basic course for pharmacy undergraduates. It provides theoretical basis for guiding clinical rational use of drugs, and provides scientific information for evaluation of drug and drug development. This course will introduce the effect of drugs on the body (pharmacodynamics)the disposal of the body to a drug (pharmacokinetics ) and the interaction between drugs, the characteristics of all kinds of drugs that includes pharmacological action, the mechanism of action of drugs , clinical use of drugs , adverse drug reactions and so on.

Pharmaceutical Analysis (药物分析)

Credit: 3

Class Hours: 48

Semester: 6th

Course Description:

Pharmaceutical analysis is a comprehensive methodological discipline that studies the quality control of pharmaceuticals and their preparations. On the basis of the knowledge of analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and other related courses, students are expected to utilize chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry and other necessary methods and techniques to study drug quality control methods. Students are required to master the techniques and skills related to pharmaceutical analysis. This course is one of the main professional courses of the pharmacy discipline. It also provides methodological support and technical support for professional courses such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics and clinical pharmacy.

Pharmaceutics (药剂学)

Credit: 3

Class Hours: 48

Semester: 6th

Course Description:

Pharmaceutics is designed for the students, who wish to embark on a career in pharmaceutical research, manufacturing company, government agencies etc. Pharmaceutics is an integrated course of applied technology, which mainly specializes on the theory of pharmaceutical dosage, formulation, preparation techniques and quality control. As the base part of the whole Pharmacy science, this course mainly focuses on the theory of pharmaceutical formulation and prescription designed before work, the basic information of rheology and the preparation technology, prescriptions analysis, quality requirements and inspection methods of various basic dosage forms, such as Liquid preparations, injections, tablets, capsules, ointments, suppositories, aerosols and so on. Through theoretical study, the students could grasp the capacity of designing various formulations and solving formulation quality problems.

Clinical Pharmacotherapeutics (临床药物治疗学)

Credit: 3

Class Hours: 48

Semester: 6th

Course Description:

Clinical Pharmacotherapeutics refers to the use of drugs to prevent, treat, and diagnose disease as well as to alter normal functions (such as preventing pregnancy) clinically. Pharmacists are experts in pharmacotherapy and are responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate, and economical use of pharmaceutical drugs. The skills required to function as a pharmacist require knowledge, training and experience in biomedical, pharmaceutical and clinical sciences. The class introduces the general principles of the medication, drug interactions, the influence of diseases to clinical medicine, drug treatment for special populations and so on.

Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics (生物药剂学与药物动力学)

Credit: 2

Class Hours: 32

Semester: 7th

Course Description:

Objective 1: Master the basic concepts and research content of biopharmaceuticals, master the basic principles of pharmacokinetics and the meaning of pharmacokinetic parameters, clarify the status and role of biopharmaceuticals and pharmacokinetics in the entire pharmacy discipline.

Objective 2: Master the internal process of drugs, the relationship between the dosage form factors of the drug, the biological factors of the drug target and the drug effect, and the ability to analyze and explain the complex internal processes of drugs and their influencing factors.

Objective 3: Master the research methods of pharmacokinetics, the selection of sampling points and the processing methods of biological samples, and be able to formulate scientific and reasonable drug in vivo process evaluation methods according to specific experimental needs, and select appropriate experimental programs.

Objective 4: Master the calculation methods of basic pharmacokinetic parameters, and have the ability to use data processing software to process data and calculate pharmacokinetic parameters

Objective 5: Be able to apply the knowledge you have learned to correctly evaluate the quality of drugs and preparations, design reasonable dosage forms, prescriptions and production processes, and provide a basis for clinical rational use of drugs.

Pharmaceutical botany and Pharmacognosy (药用植物学与生药)

Credit: 3

Class Hours: 48

Semester: 6th

Course Description:

The course is oriented towards senior students who are majoring in Pharmacy. This course aims to make students master the basic theory and experimental skills of botany and pharmacognosy, so as to identify the authenticity of crude drugs and their preparations, improve their qualities, ensure the safety and efficacies of medications, and eventually better use and develop the abundant natural medicinal resources in the world.

Pharmacy Administration (药事管理)

Credit: 1

Class Hours: 16

Semester: 6th

Course Description:

Pharmacy Administration is a branch of pharmacy and constitutes a significant part of pharmacy and pharmacy practice. It is an interdisciplinary subject, quite different from other professional pharmacy courses, involving Sociology, psychology, economics, law, management science and other disciplines. Course will introduce System of pharmacy administration, Drug supervision management, Legal management of drug, Drug registration system, Drug manufacture and distribution management, Medication use system etc. By learning this course, students understand the pharmaceutical activities of the basic law, familiar with the drug management system and organization, master the basic contents and basic methods of pharmacy administration, master the drug administration laws and regulations, and be able to use the pharmacy management theory and knowledge to guide the practice of pharmacy work, analysis, solve practical problems.

Pharmacy practice (实习)

Credit: 2

Class Hours: 4

Semester: 7th

Course Description:

Pharmacy practice is an extremely important practical teaching link and special stage in the training program of pharmacy. It is pharmacology, pharmacy, drug analysis, medicinal chemistry, clinical drug therapy, clinical pharmacology and clinical medicine foundation, etc. The extension and expansion of the classroom teaching content of the course is an important way for the graduating students to get out of the school and get in touch with clinical practice. Through the internship, students can understand the specific operations of clinical medication, pharmacy management and related pharmacy knowledge, increase students' perceptual knowledge, so as to consolidate and enrich the professional basic theories and practical skills learned, and enrich the testing, circulation, and use of relevant drugs in the hospital. The basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills of the field, comprehensively cultivate and train students' comprehensive ability to integrate theory with practice, independent observation, analysis, and problem-solving, and enhance social adaptability and competitiveness.
