The 7th Chemistry and Pharmacy Knowledge and Laboratory Skills Competition was successfully held in our university.

The 7th Chemistry and Pharmacy Knowledge and Experimental Skills Competition of the University was successfully held from 30 October to 2 December, sponsored by the Academic Affairs Office and hosted by the School of Pharmacy.

A total of 127 students from School of Pharmacy, School of Medicine, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Food and Biological Engineering, and School of Environment and Safety Engineering applied for the competition, and 32 students entered the final. The competition is divided into two stages, the preliminary stage is a theoretical written test, and the final stage is an experimental operation, the scope of investigation is mainly the basic knowledge of chemistry and pharmacy, including inorganic, organic, analytical, microbiology and biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, medicinal ingredients, natural medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, the basic theory of pharmacology, experimental operation and laboratory safety knowledge, etc., and the final stage is a 3-hour uninterrupted independent experiments, and the scope of investigation is synthetic, analytical, pharmacological general technical operation and laboratory safety knowledge. The final is a 3-hour continuous independent experiment, which examines the general technical operations and laboratory safety knowledge of synthesis, analysis.

After the finals, the judges gave detailed instructions on each experimental operation and experimental precautions, and the contestants expressed that they had gained a lot.

Through this competition, undergraduates‘ experimental skills were further improved, and their ability to think independently about experiments and coordinate and adapt to changes was cultivated. At the same time, the competition also improved students’ awareness of laboratory safety, which is conducive to broadening the cultivation channels of innovative and high-quality talents, and fostering high-level composite talents.
