In the afternoon of April 23, Dr. Xia Qing, Senior Fellow of the Millennium Pharmacy Systems (USA) was invited to deliver an academic report for the School of Pharmacy faculty and students. The presentation was entitled “Liver cells in the evaluation of drug metabolism, clearance and drug interaction (DDI)” in which Dr. Xia Qing introduced her research achievements in recent years. The report was hosted by the Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Prof. Xu Ximing.

                                Dr. Xia Qing received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 2000. Then she started to work for the Millennium Pharmacy Systems in 2001. Her current research interests are mainly concentrated in the understanding of roles of drug-related transport proteins and metabolic enzymes in drug distribution, efficacy, toxicity and drug-drug interaction. Dr. Xia has published more than 30 academic papers, and she was invited to talk on a number of international academic conferences. She also hosted a number of DMPK symposiums in ADME Conferences.
