On January 10th to 12th, 2014, organized by World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and sponsored by Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, the Inauguration Ceremony & the 1st Annual Conference of specialty Committee of Traditional Chinese Medicine was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China.
Numerous foreign researchers working on Chinese medicine authentication and related researches from Britain, United States, Canada, Austria, Russia, Japan, India and other countries, and the famous Chinese medicine experts from the mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong, such as Prof. Hongxi Xu (unique distinguished professor of Central Organization Department ‘1000 talents plan’ in TCM), the dean of the College of Pharmacy of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Prof. Zhongzhen Zhao, the vice dean of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) of Hong Kong Baptist University, Prof. Xiaohe Xiao (Distinguished Young Scholars of China), the director of Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Institute of TCM, Prof. Tingguo Kang, the vice president of Liaoning University of Chinese Medicine, Prof. Qinan Wu, the dean of College of Pharmacy of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, Prof. Daofeng Chen (Distinguished Young Scholars of China), the vice dean of the College of Pharmacy of Fudan University, and Prof. Luping Qin from Second Military Medical University, etc attended this conference.
Dr. Feng Chunlai,Associate Prof. of School of Pharmacy was invited by the organizers to give a presentation entitled “In silico approach for prediction of bioactive principles and quality control of Chinese Medicines”, which concluded the operation and characteristics of In Silico method, and moreover, he discussed academic significance and application value of this technology for the quality control of TCM and prediction of TCM active ingredients. After the conference, Prof. Eugene A. Borodin of Amur State Medical Academy, Russian, Prof. Toshiaki Makino of Nagoya City University, Japan, Dr. Martin Wang and Dr. Dave Clarke from Labs-Mark Inc and a number of international representatives and scholars from the Hong Kong Baptist University, Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine discussed with Dr. Feng, and intend for further collaboration.
Besides, Prof. Zhen Ouyang, Dr. Yang Huan, Guohua Xia, Wanqi Zhangwei from School of Pharmacy also attended the conference.
