On march 8, the School of Pharmacy held the “International Charming Women’s Day, Confident New Women” of female teacher and student salon in 1301 meeting room. The event invited Professor Dong Ying from The Next Generation Working Committee, Professor Ouyang Zhen, and Kui Ling from the School of Pharmacy to share their experience of growth and struggle. Vice Dean of the School of Pharmacy Liu Zhengxin and counsellor Wang Lian attended the event. This salon was hosted by Chen Peng, Vice secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Pharmacy, and representatives of female students of all grades attended this salon.
At the beginning of the meeting, Peng Chen introduced origin and meaning of “March 8” International Women's Day and original intention and content of this salon. Professor Dong Ying expounded the pressures, tasks and roles that women face in different periods in combination with her life experiences, and she asked students to do their best to be worthy of their parents and themselves. Professor Dong also urged students to read more books to improve their own cultural accomplishment because culture can make a person have a broader mind. Learning culture could master our own life by absorbing the wisdom of others. Based on work experience, Professor Ouyang Zhen told students that the most important to do thing well is personality. Students should to be diligent and pragmatic, and not eager for quick success. Kui Ling also shared her “first half of life” experience to the students. She suggested students to be responsible for their lives, make life planning as early as possible, and continuously improve their core competitiveness. Zhengxin Liu summarized the event. She hoped that all female students would self-respect, self-love, and improve themselves and strictly demand themselves with high standards. She wished them could study hard and improve themselves to become a confident women in the new era.
