On the afternoon of May 14, all the leaders, department heads and branch secretary of the School of Pharmacy studied the spirit of the important speech delivered by President Xi Jinping during his inspection of Tsinghua University in the 1301 meeting room.

First of all, Lu Jie, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Pharmacy, led to learn the important spirit of the speech delivered by President Xi Jinping when he visited Tsinghua University. Lu Jie systematically interpreted the spirit of President Xi’s speech from strengthening basic research, intensifying innovation, and strengthening the ideological guidance of students. He also emphasized that teachers are the backbone of education work, and we should pay attention to the transmission of knowledge and guide students to establish a correct outlook on life and values. Lu Jie proposed that college team members should guide the study and education of party history based on President Xi’s new requirements for higher education. Our members should use the party’s great achievements to inspire fighting spirit, clarify the direction, and use the party’s glorious tradition to strengthen their beliefs and gather strength. We should learn from the Party’s history strengthen self-confidence, uphold morality, and take the initiative.

Everyone believed that the important speech of President Xi pointed out the direction for the cultivation of first-class talents in colleges and universities. We must integrate the requirements of the President Xi into the improvement work of our college’s 14th Five-Year development plan, and effectively improve the quality of talent training. Teachers should cultivate students who are committing to pharmacy science and playing an important role in the construction of Healthy China. We must focus on the school’s goal of "double first-class" construction, and strive to achieve better results in core work of first-class majors and discipline construction.
