On December 2nd, the School of Pharmacy held the Wukesong Lecture of "Original Innovation in Finding Medicines in Food" in Room 103 of the lecture hall group. This lecture invited Professor Ximing Xu from the School of Pharmacy to deliver the speech. The lecture was presided over by Lian Wang, a counselor from the School of Pharmacy, attended by all undergraduates and some graduate students of the School of Pharmacy.
The topic of this lecture is Finding "Medicine" in "Food", original innovation-examples of food-borne hypoglycemic lowering and anti-gout product research and development. Professor Xu Ximing pointed out that the implementation of the "Healthy China" national strategy marks that China’s health work has shifted from "treatment-centered" to "people's health-centered", and the service mode has changed from purely "clinical treatment" to "Prevention first, prevention and treatment equally important", which also means that pharmacy students will sustain a more important mission. Subsequently, he briefly introduced the relevant situation of the homologous composition of medicine and food for lowering blood sugar and anti-gout developed by his team. He put forward the expectations of the "two certainties" to the students, and hoped the students would "must" effectively participate in the research and development, production, quality control and sales of the project products, and "must" come from Contribute to human health internally in future research.
This lecture stimulated students' sense of mission and responsibility to contribute to human health, and increased their interest in scientific research and innovation and entrepreneurship events such as "Challenge Cup" and "Internet +".
