Our school held the 4th Chemistry, Pharmacy Knowledge and Experimental Skills Competition

Recently, the 4th Chemistry, Pharmacy Knowledge and Experimental Skills Competition, sponsored by the Academic Affairs Office and undertaken by the School of Pharmacy, was successfully held. A total of 182 students from the School of Pharmacy, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Environmental and Safety Engineering, and Overseas Colleges signed up for this competition, and 35 students entered the finals. For the first time in this competition, laboratory safety knowledge was included in the competition item, emphasizing the importance of laboratory safety. The competition is divided into two stages. The preliminary contest is a theoretical written test, and the final is an experimental operation contest. The scope of investigation mainly covers basic knowledge of chemistry and pharmacy, including inorganic, organic, analysis, physicochemical, microbiology and biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, medicinal components, natural medicinal chemistry, basic theories of pharmacology, experimental operations and laboratory safety knowledge. The final is a continuous 4 hours of uninterrupted independent experiments, and the scope of investigation is general technical operations of synthesis, analysis, pharmacology, and laboratory safety knowledge.


After the finals, the judges and teachers gave detailed instructions on the problems and precautions that occurred during each experiment. The contestants expressed that they had gained a lot from it.

This competition mobilized the enthusiasm and initiative of students to participate in experiments and strengthened the professional experimental operation skills and comprehensive design capabilities. It strengthened students’ laboratory safety awareness and they would be promoted from "requiring" me to "requiring" safety awareness change. This competition also broadened the training channels for innovative and high-quality talents, and promote the implementation of the educational concept of "promoting teaching by competition and learning by competition".
