The Seventh Chemistry and Pharmacy Knowledge and Experimental Skills Competition, organized by the Academic Affairs Office and hosted by the School of Pharmacy, was successfully held at our university.

A total of 127 students from the School of Pharmacy, School of Medicine, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Food and Biological Engineering, and School of Environmental and Safety Engineering registered for this competition, with 32 students advancing to the finals. The competition comprised two stages: a preliminary theoretical written examination and a final experimental practical assessment. The scope of evaluation primarily covered fundamental knowledge in chemistry and pharmacy, including basic theories, experimental techniques, and laboratory safety protocols in inorganic, organic, analytical, microbiology and biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, natural product chemistry, and pharmacology. The final round featured a continuous three-hour independent experiment evaluating proficiency in general technical operations for synthesis, analysis, and pharmacology, alongside laboratory safety knowledge.

Following the finals, the judges provided detailed guidance on each experimental procedure and key precautions. The contestants expressed that they gained a great deal from the experience.

Through this competition, undergraduate students have further enhanced their experimental skills, cultivated independent thinking abilities in conducting experiments, and developed coordination and adaptability. Simultaneously, the competition has heightened students' awareness of laboratory safety, contributing to the expansion of channels for cultivating innovative and high-caliber talent, and fostering high-level, multidisciplinary professionals.
